Cook County Warming House & Hockey Rink
Project
Summary
Meyer Group Architecture was retained to design a new Ice Rink and Warming building for the Cook County Amateur Hockey Association. The new facilities provide for Youth Hockey programming in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Provisions were made for player changing and warming facilities, concessions, skate rental and sharpening, recreation storage, public restroom facilities, and a new garage facility for ice re-surfacing equipment. The new facilities are included as part of the Cook County Community Center Recreation Complex. Sharing of the facility with the softball, tennis, playground, and youth recreation programs ensures year round, multi-purpose use of the facility.
