Gredzen Residence

Project
Summary

This private residence involved a living room and studio addition overlooking the North Shore of Lake Superior. Constructed with heavy-timber, plate connected trusses, tongue and groove decking, and hardwood laminate flooring, the design for the home employed a highly refined use of wood to imbue a sense of warmth and comfort during the cold and stormy winters. Large expanses of operable glass windows allow for maximum access to the exquisite views and enhance the home’s openness during the balmier seasons. A large wrap-around deck creates an expansive indoor and outdoor space that’s exceedingly enjoyable in the summer months.
