University of Minnesota Duluth – Glensheen Visitor Center
Project
Summary
The Glensheen Master Plan envisions a new building to better fulfill the needs for a Ticket Booth and Welcome Center for the Glensheen Historic Estate than its current facility. The new 4,200 S.F. center is appropriate for the programming that it shall need to house. The new center will house a gift shop, waiting area, bathrooms, storage, ticket booth. The design’s intent shall be to respect the Glensheen Mansion’s architectural integrity and provide a focus of optimal views to the property and to Lake Superior. The surrounding vehicular and pedestrian circulation network will support this project with little additional change.
